Webinar recording now available: “Ammonia as a Fuel: Materials Integrity Challenges in Next-Generation Energy Systems”

News Webinar

We’re pleased to announce that the recording of the webinar “Ammonia as a Fuel: Materials Integrity Challenges in Next-Generation Energy Systems” — originally hosted by SINGLE project together with FuelSOME and AMON project — is now available online. The webinar, held 19 November 2025, brought together leading experts from European research and industry to discuss one of the most critical challenges for ammonia-fuelled energy systems: the reliability and longevity of materials in high-temperature, ammonia-rich environments. Topics covered include degradation mechanisms, protective coatings, alloy resistance, novel material solutions for ammonia cracking, and testing strategies to ensure safe, durable, and efficient Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) and ammonia cracker systems.

Belma Talic from SINTEF spoke on behalf of SINGLE, presenting “Nitridation resistance of alloys for the BoP of an ammonia cracker system” and providing valuable insights into material behaviour and nitridation challenges under ammonia-cracker operating conditions.

By making the recording available, we aim to extend the reach of these valuable insights to researchers, industry stakeholders and anyone interested in clean hydrogen technologies, supporting informed development of sustainable ammonia-to-hydrogen energy solutions.
