On October 22nd and 23rd, 2024, in Balaguer, Spain, hosted by GECRIO, the SINGLE consortium gathered for updates on the work packages and for the General Assembly. This meeting marked a significant milestone, as SINGLE has now reached its eighteenth month of activity, precisely halfway through its timeline. Importantly, this event also signals the launch of the pilot plant, currently under construction by GECRIO, which will be sent to Valencia in the first half of the new year, where it will soon be fully operational.
Up to now, research has primarily focused on the impact of PCER usage over a limited timeframe and on refining details related to the reactor. While some final adjustments are still needed, everything is nearly ready for testing in a pilot plant that replicates the real life setup. All partners were thrilled during the visit to GECRIO’s labs, where they could see the structure that will house the plant.
